The windmill at Great Harvest has been spinning for almost 33 years now. Despite bakeries being among the most difficult businesses to keep afloat, a dedicated following of grocery shoppers and diners alike continue to show their support.

Kiefer Jones, a cashier at the bakery, says changeover in the ownership has shifted things a little, but in a good way.

"Well, we've vamped up the deli menu, and there's more variety in the bread. We've just been trying to make everything available more often," says Jones.

Which means you might not have to throw elbows (this time) to get ahold of their best sellers, the basic whole-wheat loaf ($5.25) or their gooey cinnamon roll ($2.50).

So what's the secret to their three decades of success?

"We offer a different product than what you find in the grocery store," Kiefer replies. "The homemade feel is what we go for." (Alicia Purvis-Lariviere)

Never have I ever fallen so completely head over heels with anyone as
quickly or as hard as I did with you.You were my everything. Now I'm left
with nothing but memories of you that I'll cherish forever. You truly are
the love of my life.. I love you. Always, me.

To all you selfish restaurant employees who seem to think you deserve a
tip, first of all, tipping comes after the service, not before, and with
your crappy attitudes of you all deserving to be tipped? Not with the
attitudes of selfishness! Do you tip housekeepers? I'm sure not because
your busy complaining about the small wages you make and taxes that are
taken out. Do you tip fast food workers? I'm sure not. Get of your high
horse and be happy you even have a damn job!

Jeers to the physician who recently left patients waiting over 2 ½ hours
for their scheduled appointments. At no time did staff offer an explanation
for the delay, issue any form of apology for the outrageously long wait or
extend the offer to reschedule appointments. I am also a professional who
lost an important part of my work day waiting for this professional who
obviously had little regard for my time. Equally upsetting was a fellow
waitees remark that they (the doctor and office staff) are so used to
working with old people that they figure we have all the time in the world
and it doesn't matter. Sadly I was thinking the same thing earlier as I
noticed the average age of the individuals in the waiting room was probably
70 years. This just added to the blatant disregard for the value of
people's time. I don't care how many years this individual spent in medical
school, shame on you doctor!

Word to the un-tippers and under-tippers ...shame. TIPS stands for "To
Insure Proper Service". If you received good service, do the right thing.
If you didn't, speak to a manager. Assuming you can read, I suggest you
pick up a copy of Barbara Ehrenreich's book "Nickled and Dimed ...Not
Making a Living in America" for an idea of the trouble you cause others.
While you're at it, watch a couple of old episodes of "My Name is Earl".
Once you get enlightened to the concept of Karma, you could star in your
very own episode and call it "Didn't Tip the Waitress". Time to start your
own lists, cheapies. J.

A really big 'What' to the Medicare system. Are you ready people? They cut
dental services which some of us need bad, however they will pay for
Post-T-Vac for some guy to get a hard one. What? Our system needs to make
better decisions when it comes to what to cut. Shame, Shame Medicare

Spokane and North Idaho drivers are probably the worst, most irresponsible
drivers I've ever seen. No kidding. Are there no manuals containing the
rules of the road your supposed to read and apply before you go out
tootling around in a 3000 lb machine capable of killing someone? If Idaho
drivers aren't endangering everyone around them at 20 mph over the speed
limit, their 10 mph under the limit, impeding traffic in the fast lane.
Totally oblivious to anyone around them. As for Spokane, when you actually
do give a turn signal, which is quite rare, do you really think it does any
good to do so while starting into your turn? While the police refuse to
aggressively enforce the laws pertaining to cell phone use while driving,
the young mindless newly licensed knuckleheads feel they must text while
driving regardless of mass warnings against doing so. These are just a
couple of examples I've cited. The moronic, mindless behavior of todays
drivers sure bring home that old saying of driving defensively. Oh, and
guys, that 4x4 lifted truck that acts as your penis extention, goes like
crazy in the snow, but stops just like everything else, not so well in the
snow and ice.

You know that there is a reason to why we have cars in this world don't
you? You wouldn't be late to work if you didn't take a community bus than
riding a public bus where there outta be something to pop up as a problem.
I personally think it was your fault. Just suck it up and get on with life.
