HAPPY HOUR: It's Wednesday - make it count.

Each Wednesday on Bloglander, we give you a taste of happyhours going on at bars around town that night. (Read previous posts.)

Let out a big sigh of relief – it’s Wednesday and the day’s more than halfway over now. There’s two days left to get through before the last glorious weekend of August, and to celebrate all of this, we’ve picked some great Happy Hours going on around town this evening for you to check out.

Stretching our geographic focus a little wider this week, Capone’s in Coeur d’Alene is offering $1 off wells and $0.50 cents off all imperial pints (for those of you who aren’t aware, that’s 20 oz. instead of 16 oz., which is referred to in the drinking world as an American pint). Catch these deals from 5-7 pm today.

At the Rusty Moose, on the West Plains, catch happy hour from 4-6 pm today and treat yourself to a range of appetizers on special from $3.95 to $6.95. To wash it all down, order a mug of beer and get $1 off the menu price. If wine or well drinks are more your style, those have a dollar knocked off, too.

On the more historic, less strip-mall-filled stretch of East Sprague, the Checkerboard Tavern welcomes patrons for its happy hour today from 4-7 pm with $5 pitchers of Bud Light, Kokanee, and Kokanee Gold, along with 50 cents off everything else in the bar.

Whiskey Dick’s, in northeast Spokane and just south of the Hillyard neighborhood, boasts its “happy hour” drink and appetizer specials all day long, from open (11 am) to close (2 am). Head over early in the evening, or late tonight, and get yourself some hot wings for $5, a Jager shot for $3, or domestic pitchers for $6.
