Behind the scenes at our summer fashion shoot

Posted By on Wed, Jun 4, 2014 at 12:44 PM

The first day of summer isn’t until June 21, but with the glorious sunshine happening right now it seems like the season has already arrived. Just in time, we’re releasing a Summer Fashion guide highlighting the work of five local clothing designers (because yes, there is a fashion scene in Spokane). To pique your curiosity, check out what it took to put together two of the shoots at Mirabeau Point Park.

Alyssah Perez of Eco Chic Designs has been making jewelry since she was 19, but only within the last year has the 26-year-old taken up designing mostly evening wear. Since then, she’s shown at New York Fashion Week twice and Los Angeles Fashion Week. Find out the story behind her recent creations below.

Gianna Morrill, who designs under the Kuriio label, can’t help but sew clothes you wouldn’t normally find in stores. The 23-year-old believes in clean lines with rough edges and says that these are the types of clothes you would wear on the weekends. Find out what kind of woman she sees wearing her clothes below.
