Paying It Forward

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:14 AM

Cheers to the man who bought my coffee & Bumble Bar at Thomas Hammer on 6/14. It's amazing how a little random act of kindness can honestly change someone's whole day. I promised you I'd pay it forward, & you'd be pleased to know a very thin homeless man thoroughly enjoyed that Bumble Bar. I was hungry, but he was hungrier. I will continue to pay it forward. Thanks for brightening my day and opening my eyes.

Bad Tipper

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:13 AM

To a Spokane County Commissioner. I work a second job as a server a few nights a week during these tough economic times. I waited on you recently at a downtown venue, and I gave you excellent service. You thanked me by leaving an 8.3% tip. I know from public record that you make a few pennies shy of $100,000. There is no excuse for your deviation from the social standard of 15-20% gratuity.

Spokane Drivers

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:13 AM

A very huge Jeers to the dad with his 2 little girls that parked in the handicapped parking at the North Spokane Library on 6/14. Neither you or your 2 girls had any kind of impairment that warranted you to "use" your relative's handicapped plackard to park there. Just so you know it is a crime to misuse a privilege like that and you will get a ticket & the person who the plackard belongs to in the first place will have it revoked! I have sent an email to the DMV asking how to report lowlifes like yourself to them so that your privilege & that of your relatives will be revoked. I'm just sorry you had to misuse your family in order to get in & get out. Heres a tip: Walking is good exercise!

Same Road Same Rules

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:10 AM

If you are driving a car and there is no stop sign in front of you and you see a cyclist stopped at a stop sign, don't stop! You don't stop for other vehicles when you are driving on an arterial & see a car waiting at a stop sign on a side road, do you? If a cyclist is waiting at a stop sign he is obeying the law. Idiots who stop for them cause confusion & accidents! If someone is off their bike & pushing it, they are a pedestrian. Pedestrians do have the right of way & you should stop for them. Parents, teach your children bicycle safety! Cyclists, follow the rules! Don't give a thank you wave and cross because a car stopped for you when it shouldn't have, wave them on. Maybe eventually they will follow the rules &  become less of a driving hazard.

Brute Force

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:09 AM

To the bouncer who thought he needed to prove how strong he was by jerking around & punching a 120 lbs girl, because he got his pride wounded with her smart comments, my bad. I had no idea the two bouncers were going to go on a power trip & beat up a girl! Oh ya I did file a police report & while they might not be doing anything I can at least let everyone else know. Thank you to the girl who stood up for me.

Arguing Idiot

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:08 AM

All Along the Dumbasstower. To the idiot arguing with me at Zola that the Eddie Vedder/Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses) live version of All Along the Watchtower was better than the original by Jimi Hendrix, because & I quote, "man like they figured out the true philosophical underpinnings, man, and Hendrix was like lost in the acid haze, but, like, Vedder knew it, man, he GOT it!" I can only reply you are a dense & vacuous poseur & startlingly so. If you ever see me at a bar again, save your deeply foolish appraisals derived from way too many hours furiously clicking on YouTube, for someone who actually cares. You are too much confusion & I can't get no relief.

Their, They're, There!

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:06 AM

Heavens to flippen betsy; get your “there, their & they're” right! I’d love to say this problem is isolated; but last week at least three posters misused the use of “there”, “their” or “they’re”. There, I said it; it’s their right to post, but they’re making it tough on the eyes. (see how I did that?)  now, if we only had enough time to solve the “to & too” issues too!  ;)

Re: Vaping

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:06 AM

It's unfortunate that we live in a society where new ideas/inventions are more often shunned than embraced, in the beginning. The outcome is almost always rage & indifference, as I have seen here in this section. Vaping is not for everyone, just as cigarettes aren’t. However, why not embrace a technology that has the potential to save 450,000 lives a year, not to mention those affected by second hand smoke? I have been smoke free for almost a year, thanks to this amazing invention. I am a healthier person because someone had the tenacity & vision to look past the cigarette stigma in this country & offer a better alternative. Addiction & dependence are not reasons to ridicule others or poke your nose in their business. While I agree that vaping should not be banned indoors, I also feel that it is about respecting others. Seeing as how it's water vapor that is expelled from e-cigs, would you also complain about someone boiling water in your general area?  Furthermore, people like you instigate intolerance and ignorance. To those who find vaping so offensive, I’d like to volunteer to buy you a pack of cigarettes in an attempt to calm you down and shut you up.

Re: Re: Slow Accelerators

Posted on Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 11:04 AM

People, we now have an official volley! I accelerate at a decent rate of speed, to me, but not to you. You have found, by following me, I am not quick enough for you. Please pass me. I am not going to accelerate quicker because you are offended, I have been driving this way for many, many years and have yet to receive a ticket for slow acceleration. I find it amusing you think this driving style is immature! Thanks for being a player!!
