Re: “Retired cop files Straub-related public records claim against the city

Thank you Mr. Breen.

Good Attorney too. I was about three feet from him when he kicked the mod to the curb during "Meidl Faux-Forum One". Guy is quick.

Re: “Retired cop files Straub-related public records claim against the city

City of Spokane - Municipal Government / City of Spokane Police Department always seem to scramble when it comes to releasing public records. Now we will hold Mayor #RecallCondon's administration responsible for withholding public records. This is the 1st of many lawsuits to come. Btw... Can I get my public records request completed please. You holding me up also!

If your dad was the scuba store he was no better he bailed in the middle of the night emptying the store and owing customers thousands of dollars in prepaid products and not paying suppliers.

Re: “Actually nevermind, the city council probably won't vote on Craig Meidl's appointment tonight

Whoaaa stop the presses. What do you mean Medl isn't going to be the chief. I saw the mayor make him the chief. I even saw Medls daughter pin a badge on him. Don't tell me it was one of those sticker badges the cops give out. This mayor is a complete disaster. Has he done anything right recently. Worse yet is these guys willing to let the mayor parade them around for his benefit. Just look at the previous two chiefs dubrow and macdivitt. Does any of these chiefs and now Medl have any self respect? I can't believe Medl is willing to drag his family through this circus so he can be the next mayors boy. I actually feel sad for Medl and his family having to explain this mess to their friends and others.

Re: “Spokane deputy's post about Black Lives Matter sparks debate among local law enforcement

Black people commit crimes at a rate 10 times higher than White and Hispanics combined. Throw that statistic in with the statistic that they are killed at a higher rate. Look it up it's true.

Re: “Spokane deputy's post about Black Lives Matter sparks debate among local law enforcement

How fortunate that BLM members aren't "professionals" so they can say whatever they want, act like thugs and get away with advocating murder. Meanwhile a cop expresses his frustration that both the government and society they're protecting seems to be in support of all this hatred and points out something important about BLM yet that's unprofessional? I love how BLM is down playing their lack of an appearance in a real disaster, they only seem to be around to create them. BLM is all about 'the big picture' right up until how full of $h!t they are becomes public, then they back step, play the obfuscation game and try to play it off like they're just about police shootings. They decided to take a stand as a face for the entire black community and it's rights, if they weren't full of it this wouldn't even be an issue, they would have been there to begin with. When they're killing cops it's for their rights and to better their community, but when their community actually needs then, they're just about the cops? Do we have any expectations of anyone anymore or can people just exhale anything and not be held accountable these days?

Re: “Bitter Pills?

Well it can't be much worse than what the county staff was offering before. I spent 2 weeks there in 2015 and tried to get seen for a skin infection. When I got out I had to go to the hospital for IV antibiotics the day of my release. Not one reply in 10+ request for care. Spokane is a hellhole compared to the 3 other jails I've unfortunately been booked at.

Re: “Good News, Bad News

In reality businesses don't pay taxes. If their costs increase, they raise the price of the good or service they sell. The consumer pays the increased cost. Some businesses sell products for which there are readily available substitutes. For example, if the cost of a restaurant meal gets too high, people will brown bag instead of buying lunch at a fast food restaurant. The fast food restaurant either finds ways to cut its costs and reduce its prices, or it goes out of business. If the restaurant must pay a high minimum wage, it can reduce its costs by mechanizing and reducing its labor force. Congratulations! You've just hurt the workers whom you were trying to help.

These concepts are basic microeconomics, and like basic arithmetic, they're not political or ideological. Hate it all you like, but it's how the economy works. Magical thinking won't change it, and meddling will have real consequences.

Re: “Good News, Bad News

So again, you must really hate any new change or changes that come your way...and you hate the very idea of treating humans like human beings.

Some policy makers have an ego and want thier buddy corp's to make more than perhaps 5% to 30% plus on profiteering.....don't get us wrong, we want and enjoy the fact the single proprierships , and or big corp's can and should make money....but dear god in heaven must it be at a fellow humans expense???????????????????????????????????????

Re: “Good News, Bad News

Let's connect some dots. If we implement policies that increase labor costs, eventually it's less expensive to mechanize and eliminate jobs. Businesses that decrease their costs will have a competitive advantage over those that don't. Another illustration of how policy makers actually hurt those whom they're trying to help by meddling with things they don't understand.

Re: “'Seek and Destroy'

Regardless of whether it's mandated by the Supreme Legislature--I mean Court--spending money without regard to outcomes is stupid and wasteful. Why continue to spend money if outcomes aren't better?
