Re: “Katniss Strikes Back

Could not disagree more. Breaking up the last part of the story into two parts means that we have a movie where nothing happens. Everything in this movie could have been squeezed into twenty minutes. Instead what we are given is one scene after another on the making of propaganda. See Birdman instead.

Re: “American Dad

Daniel Walters you have no idea what you are talking about. This was an interesting episode but not the best.

“I guess I just picked a whole bouquet of Oopsie-Daisies.” is a funny/good/bad line. I liked it.

Re: “Sophomore Slump

Just seen the movie and have no idea what the product placement shot was. The Netflix joke? Seriously, I have no idea.

Re: “To-Watch List

Obvious Child, Happy Christmas, Laggies, and Life After Beth are also so films out of Sundance to look forward to!

Re: “Computer Love

I was reading this over and the voice of the woman in Her is Kristen Wigg from Bridesmaids and Anchor Man 2. Great review of the movie though thanks for the great read.

Re: “Major League Baseball 2K10

I thought that My Player games would be like NBA 2K games where when you're not playing you can still watch the game unfold from the bench. I'm so dissapointed

Re: “Auteur Service

Please! More stories about Blacks, cant get enough. After all they make up a whopping 12% of the POP. Remember Asians? Mexicans? gee how about Wihtes?

Re: “Big Bad Movie

I loved this movie, for way too many reasons to go into (many of which have already been discussed) I will say this however, Scott Paulin played the theater director and absolutely steals every scene he is in. My twin brother and I have had ongoing inside jokes based entirely on this movie for twenty eight years
It is a treasure indeed. Kudos for recognizing it for what it is.

Re: “Not Accepted

This review is too kind. The film was mediocre in its best moments, and there weren´t too many of those. Tomlin had some amusing moments in her supporting role, but Fey did not or was not allowed to live up to her comedic potential. She has been substantially better in any single episode of 30 Rock. Definitely a rental if you bother with it at all.

Blair Tellers can write! Give her more assignments, more space, more everything!

Re: “Little Help Here?

Inasmuch as it would be exciting to send humanity to the stars....I don´t want to send *this* version of humanity. I propose we get our shit together here, make sure our home nest isn´t soiled, before we rush of to other locals and soil them. Else we will become a scourge on the galaxy.

Re: “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

Re: “Boss

Walters is dead on accurate. What a great way to describe USA network shows. Light and fluffy. That is so precise it made me grin. AMC is doing the best new low-budget stuff on cable. Groundbreaking shows. Well done Mr. Walters.

Re: “Shining Through Negatives

Jane, that would be the Magic Lantern on Main. A beautiful little theater and the movies are always unique.

Re: “Shining Through Negatives

I´ve never heard of Bill Cunningham, but his story is intriguing. I´ll be checking to see where it might be playing in Spokane.

Re: “Jon Benjamin Has a Van

The first episode of Love In The Wild was great! Excellent editing to keep up the drama, involvement with the characters, and some just fantastic lines that came out of the character’s themselves! Good job!

Re: “Jon Benjamin Has a Van

At least give this show a first watch, you´ll laugh. And also look up ´Dog Bites Man´. It was another funny show on comedy central that was about a news team based out of Spokane. Unfortunately it only made it one season, but it was great. Matt Walsh (Outsourced, Children’s Hospital), and Zach Galifianakis(The Hangover) star.

Re: “Woody Loves Paris

Susanne -- For the record, I really liked the film, and I hope you get to see it in a theater. Quick correction: Woody Allen doesn´t have a production company. Sony Classics distributes his films. Believe me, he´d rather have them released everywhere. It´s the decision of distributors and theaters as to where it plays. These days, his stuff always opens at the art houses. Good news: "Midnight in Paris" is doing well, and will probably open wider. It might even be a big hit for Woody.
