Re: “Sun Power

It's not about whether the panels are cheaper than asphalt. It's about whether the panels are cheaper than asphalt + all energy production in the United States combined. This will replace not just roads, but power plants as well.

Re: “Whole-body healing

I am interested in this Ayurveda center, as I'm moving to the area in a few months. I can't locate "Wellspring" in Spokane on line...anywhere but in this article. Could someone direct me or put me in contact with Kevin and Rebecca Laselle please? THANK YOU!

Re: “Whitman Privilege

"The price of flashy facilities, of course, is nothing compared to the cost of paying Ph.D.s, instead of adjuncts, to teach small classes."
Wondering what their alumni and current students, not to mention the faculty, think of the writer recommending Whitman replacing expensive "Ph.D.s" with adjunct faculty to teach Whitman classes? ALL Whitman classes are small (averaging around 15 students or so). That's why kids come to a college like Whitman, for close interaction with faculty who have terminal degrees in their field, not to be taught by teaching assistants (like at large universities).

Re: “Breaking the Silence

I would like to advertise the hearing and organize a protest. We need to protect their way of life.

Re: “Whitman Privilege

So some of the well-heeled students are staging protests about plight of the less fortunate. How about writing some tuition checks for the less fortunate? Talk is cheap. And maybe income inequality isn't altogether bad. Nothing like being a poor student to motivate hard work and self discipline.

Re: “Vaccine Haters Lightning strikes quite frequently in Calif. Take a look at all the parents with vaccine related injuries who stood firm opposing Calif SB277. Do we ignore these mothers? Call them uneducated? Call them names? Quarantine them? Tell me! Whot do you want to do with these concerned mothers.

Re: “Sun Power

Ignorance is at a all time high in this country with green technology and living and buying green, I myself own
a environmentally/green service business so let's get to the reality of the bullshit it still takes huge amounts of
fossil fuels to make and produce green products, electric cars still use fossil fuels to be made, a lot of fuel is wasted
on container ships to send us cheap manufactured goods, so I have to ask the twit brains in the article how
much waste will you make to help us to be more green and don't give me the hydro-electric dam crap either.
Will you use the sun or wind to produce your product, well guess what guys your are still going to waste the
earth resources to produce your product. There is a process called self reinforcing feed back loops that you
will help contribute to when you produce your product's, the problem is when about 10,000 to 16,000 years
ago is when mankind learned to control nature (when farming started) so good luck and thanks for more waste!

Re: “The Last of the Herd

Did not the majority of wolves in Northern Idaho, Washington, and Montana move south from BC and Alberta rather than move north from the reintroduced wolves in central Idaho?

Re: “Homeland Droneland

Last night @ 7 PM as I was leaving my house on the upper South Hill, I heard a buzzing sound (like either a bunch of angry bees or several kids on motorized go carts) when I looked up to see a a 4 propeller driven drone zipping above 57th Ave as it headed east towards Brown's mountain. At that point, it reversed course & headed back west. Besides a blinking white light (like one would see on incoming planes), this drone obviously had a camera attached as it surveyed the area. Now I have a better understanding about why a small town in Colorado passed a law allowing its residents to shoot down any drone that flies over their properties.

Re: “Whitman Privilege

Wow I thought when I saw the picture of Whitman college on page 13 of the print copy, the school sure looks nicer than when I graduated in 1999. I should go back and visit more often, but wait that's a picture of Princeton.

Re: “Sun Power

These people are setting themselves up for a big disappointment. Ever see the film 'East of Eden"? Check it out some time. That is where this project is heading in time. I feel sad for these people, they may be trying to do some good. But they are going to be a laughing stock in time.

It's Sad.

Great article. I hope to see more and more of our homes built this way. Thanks to Gavin Tenold for bringing this to our region.

Re: “Signs of the Times

Why tax or regulate? If that's supposed to dissuade people from buying or selling sex, how is taxation functionally better than criminal penalties? Criminal penalties are more serious than paying a tax, but apparently criminal penalties haven't stamped out the trade. If prostitution results from substance abuse, is decriminalization a form of enabling? And if we de-criminalize sex trafficking, what happens to the community? Do we want to become a destination for sex tourism like Thailand? No thanks.

Re: “Ryan's Last Ride

Somewhere in all of the non-news in this story should have been results of the examination on this young man. Are we supposed to think he died from boredom?

As with all left wing tripe, as many facts as needed are deleted, left out or excluded to get the left wing, anti-law enforcement message across.

We can do two things. Mourn the loss of this young man's life and ask the Inlander to stop lying in their articles.

Re: “Gambling Losses

Chesrown owns a bunch of car dealerships still. But I believe they are setup to not pay him salary. If he wants the black eye he can declare personal bankruptcy while the corporations flourish.
To my knowledge Brewster has already left Spokane. Last I knew he was in Seattle.

Re: “Ryan's Last Ride

No helmet,

No headlight,

No tail light,

No reflectors,

No regard for traffic laws,

Just randomly peddles into the road with to regard for oncoming traffic and expect others to swerve, crash or otherwise alter everything because you are AFTER ALL the center of the Xbox universe and you are peddling into traffic.

When I was a kid I didn't check the Facebook feeds for accidents when my buddies were running late. Why? Because my buddies were not normally breaking every law ever written regarding proper walking, biking or driving when they traveled to my home and I had to reason to expect them to be "in the news".

As with all stories in this "news" magazine, something is terribly wrong in the writing of this story. Every act of the "victim" is utterly disregarded and ignored and the blame for all of the victims mistakes is squarely set on the shoulders of others to forward the left wing bias and hate of law enforcement constantly furthered by the Inlander.

"Do Not Walk" was what the sign said.
