FWIW, Liberty's tasting room opened in April 2014, not 2013. North Idaho Cider hasn't opened its tasting room yet, though it has begun distribution. And Coeur d'Alene's other new (but unmentioned) cidery, Summit Cider, starting distributing earlier, in mid-November, and is more widely available.

Actually, Zelda, the spelling we use is the original spelling that dates back to the days of David Thompson and Finan McDonald. Pend d'Oreille or Pendant d'Oreille was the name given to the native peoples who adorned their ears with ear rings or as David Thompson's French crew called them - Pendant d'Oreille - pendant of the ear. It's really a great story and we are proud to honor that history.

Mika is not only a ridiculously talented, innovative baker : she is passionately local local local ... fine ingredients she actually knows source (and usually, the farmer) and hand selects. You TASTE this commitment, care and love in her creations. And restoring a gorgeous, historical brick building in the heart of West Central is marvelous. Lucky, lucky West Central. Batch Bakeshop is worth finding. You'll be smitten.

Mika provided the desserts for our wedding this summer and did an outstanding job. Our dessert buffet was the stuff dreams are made of - every type of treat imaginable. So happy she finally has her own shop!

I have eaten many rabbits and I would say they tast great. Why are you all upset about her eating. If you like to just eat Veg then it is your right. The same for her. I for one have some I do the same with along with cow's, pigs and birds. I like to eat food of all kinds and want the stuff I know is rased well. Look in the walmart and tell me there meat is good. Even look at there veg and say you eat stuff all natural. Rabbit in a veg stew is the best.

Kudos to Miss Miller-Krezelak for a superbly scribed piece of prose on Miss Renee Cebula's new, cool business venture. We were particulary struck by the role that Dean Martin has played in her life and livelihood! Never was, never will be anyone as cool as the King of Cool....oh, to return to the days when Dino walked the earth. Business prospers and will continue to prosper when successful business owners put themselves into a position to help recreate and build, even when the majority feels that building is unnecessary. It is clear that there is some personal pride here on the responses and their "passion" for the zombie theme, but it is also clear that this theme was not successful. Not have been for sale, and would not have recieved so much negative banter on the theme or its business. I am excited to see another business owner in Spokane that knows from experience what it takes to operate and be successful. Another thing that is clear is that these people who are wishing failure for these two owners have not been in a position to build themselves or have recieved great hardship in their business endeavors. Probably for their ignorance and emotional buyin to a theme and it's so called success....I would imagine, at any rate a "pretty" cupcake or clean, family environment is better than a run down, dirty, portly managed business. Also, it is better to be employed then unemployed...(unless you get a free zombie movie on Netflix). I am excited to see this business grow, and grow they shall!

I was in Spokane a few months ago and stayed at the howard johnson hotel, and when we see the dawn of the doughnut we were immediately intrigued by the place. Neither one of us are big zombie fans but how could you not go inside. Anyways we had fun, we took pictures with the zombies and had fun with the props. We attempted to go back a few weeks ago but it was already closed. If the zombie theme/decorations is taken down that it is just like any other doughnut shop and therefore doesn't make it unique or different.

If they remove the zombie theme it will close its doors in less then a month it is too close to the other shop they own and the shop on Hamilton. Over saturation of pretty much the same business in less then a mile or two = death to your business. I'm sorry why ruin a good thing sure add to the menu expand the hours but don't kill a good thing. As for you people that don't agree that this is a bad idea quit living under the rock that you have been under for the past 10 years an turn on your tv or go to a video game shop zombies are everywhere they are big business right now. The only reason that shop floated as long as it did was because of its theme. The other shops in Spokane pretty much have this corner of the market monopolized to remove the theme is suicide for that business it will not make it out of 2015 mark my words.
