Re: “UPDATE: DAFT BADGER BREWING

A local hidden secret, fast gaining popularity for it's awesome food and beer! We LOVE the Daft Badger. Josiah!s Revenge Stout is incredible (I'm not even a huge stout fan and I love it)!

Re: “A New Home

This gives me pause despite how lovely it sounds. I have never yet been to a pub with a seriously effective monitoring ethic.

Re: “A Beer Hub

They must be a bunch of morons. Ask Mark Richard, the Cowles, and the Downtown Spokane Partnership - downtown is a dangerous place full of bums and street kids, parking is impossible, and on and on and on...

(Yes, this is satire. I work downtown and regularly come back in the evening or on weekends with my family. The people that are scared of downtown don't get out much and will always probably feel more comfortable shopping at a big box, eating at a chain restaurant, and walking around a mall - they'll probably drive around for hours in a vast expanse of asphalt looking for a parking spot close to the door too. Takes all kinds I guess.)

Re: “A Beer Hub

Orlison exclusively brews lagers and its Pilsner 37 is a fine beer. I read another article which claimed five new breweries will be opening in Spokane within the next year. Spokane is no Portland but it is becoming a beer haven in its own right.

Re: “Breweries of the Inland Northwest

@Michael, @burmy - Apparently Downdraft and Zythum don't count, either, not to mention several other places outside Spokane/Kootenai counties.

@patwick - What you're saying is true of most craft breweries everywhere, lagers tie up your tanks longer and you have to mess with an extra yeast. But as noted in the list above, Perry and Waddell's regularly do pilsners (and also a Vienna at Waddell's); Orlison does almost all lagers (though from ale-derived recipes), and cans most of them.
