Re: “Reclaimed Rock

Lyn is an awesome guy. He built me a "Denny Mateny Model 3/4 size Koa Body, Solid Ebony Neck, HH Seymour Duncan "Jeff Beck" P.U.'s guitar back in 1983 while Boogie bodies was located in Puyallup, WA. I first met lyn while he was walking across the shop where I worked with a silver guitar template in his hand, you see Washington Poster Co. printed his Boogie Bodies water decals, "face down on water decal stock". I was foreman/lead screen printrer/lead ink mixer at Washington Poster "SeaTac WA for fifteen years. One thing led to another and the next thing you know Lyn is building me a guitar and becoming my friend "who I still talk about all the time. Like the time he came to my work to pick up my last payment check on my guitar build, he said come out to my station wagon I've got something to show you. He had a ATA flight case in the back and proceeded to open it. Since Washington Poster was right next to the airport he was killing two birds with one stone. Inside the case was a beautiful custom build koa telecaster, "absolutely gorgeous", he said here play it, I said ok, it played awesome. I said who's is this and he said EC's i said WHO, he said yah this is Eric Claptons guitar I just finished it. I said sacrilege, you set me up, I'm in trouble now. Your meaning to tell me I played Eric Clapton's guitar before he did, Lyn laughed and said yah. I was just lucky I didn't have Naz-Dar vinyl ink on my hands as I often did from my ink mixing and printing. Anyway I have a bunch more funny, poignant stories about Lyn, Lyn is a real character, charming, gracious, affable, wry sense of humor, outgoing, genuine, giving, just a all around amazing person. I have felt so lucky to have met him. The day i saw him carrying that template my life changed forever. Yours Truly Jon Robbins

Re: “A New Face

Their food is nicely prepared. I love the blt--it's worth the price, imo. Try the Eggs Benedict, by the way! To die for.

Re: “A New Face

Prices sound rather steep. $8.50 for a BLT? Two slices of bread, some veggies and a few pieces of bacon.

Re: “Swells of Change

Chey Scott, you wrote that $51.00 was released to Reed Jensen for his cleanup along Howard Street. You also wrote that the initiative brought in $51.00. Yet your article states, "Crowdswell takes a 5 percent cut from each contribution as its overhead, along with a small transaction fee." So the initiative must have brought in more than $51.00, unless Crowdswell didn't take any cuts from the initiative.

Re: “Feeding the Mind

I agree! A well balanced diet high in fruits and vegetables as well as exercising your brain. Its ok to have a
pizza or indulge in something you want but always in moderation.

Re: “Full Circle

More writing needs to be like this. One of the few sports "where are they nows" I've really enjoyed. Not boringly long and really well written.

Re: “Landlocked Love

Bet these would pair nicely with the Oyster Stout that 21st Ammendment Brewery releases seasonally.
