Re: “The Real Thanksgiving

The clam juice is my only question. What is that going to make this taste like? Fishy? Anyone have any idea about that?

Re: “Conversation Starter

Victor is a wonderful instructor, my wife and I loved going to Satori. We now live in Costa Rica and the dances we were taught by Victor are spot on if you want to learn authentic salsa and tango steps. People here in CR are always amazed at our tango skills when we dance. Satori is a great place and the people are always very friendly!

Re: “'Ain't No Soup Kitchen'

In September, I brought a sizable box of plums from our trees down to the back door of the mission. I asked if they could use fresh plums and Chef Mobley personally came out, said: "Hot dog! Plum pudding tonight!!!" Needless to say, that brought a huge smile to my face. What an outstanding professional this fellow is.

Re: “ART | Hatch

I'm glad that Joe Arnoux is working with Hatch to bring a show like this to our area. With Spokane being immediately surrounded by 5 Interior Salish tribes, we should be seeing much more Native artwork amongst the Inland Northwest's galleries, art events and mainstream venues. Happy Native American month and we'll see you at Hatch this weekend for what might very well be the first annual, "We Are Still Here" Indigenous art event.

Re: “Making the Historic Human

Hopefully there will be an entourage from City Hall following Mr. Pitts to ensure his visit to Spokane is a dazzling dream. If he experiences any inconvenience or perceived slight while in Spokane, it will be rehashed endlessly in his columns. The guy is world class in his ability to hold a grudge.

I love people like this who are so passionate about what they do even if it's a bit abnormal. I'd love to see some of the garden statues he has in is Oasis of Weird. Does he have any kind of Instagram account so we can see his newest stuff?

Re: “A Picture of the Good Life

I don't believe this is Jesse W. James or Robert Ford. Lois Gibson used a image for comparison that was not even close to looking like Jesse W. James' known daguerreotypes in her analysis. The comparison photos had been posted earlier this year on Wikipedia by a known company that sells old "celebrity daguerreotypes" for a profit. Basically if the image does not have provenance and the comparisons are not even close in resemblance I would be very suspicious of authenticity?! It should also be noted that the family of Jesse W. James at the James Preservation Trust believe it to be a fake as well and should be reported in this article.

Re: “Ship-Faced

I'm one of the 'old farts' but only drink local brews at microbreweries. This excludes me from most of the above mentioned establishments. Funny how "Corporate Beer" simmer emotions and fuels fights.

Thank God for small local breweries, cider makers and mead makers. You warm our hearts with your Craft!

Re: “Hoo! Hot! Marmot!

I googled eating marmot while I, also, was reading a book. It was about Genghis Kahn. And yes, I had also read about someone contracting bubonic plague from eating marmot.

Re: “Growing the Cougs

Looking at the season schedules, Washington State Cougars have a shot to win nine or ten games in the conference in addition of possibly going 9-3 in non-conference games. If the team chemistry can be effective during the whole basketball season, they have a shot not only to finish in the middle of the conference standings but also sneak into the NCAA Tournament after a 7 years the last time of playing in that tournament. Ernie Kent wants to build a team that can win lots of games. Go Cougars!

Re: “Read the Comments

What the leftist who wrote this article is really saying is that "comments' contrary to his/her own opinion are "racist" or "sexist" or written by a "psychopath". I think they guy who "commented" about you needing your head examined was probably spot on.

The one truth about leftists above all others is that they are the MOST intolerant people on earth. God, and man oh man, they hate God, forbid you have an opinion contrary to them or an idea not provided to you by their party masters. They call you names, ridicule your friends and family. If you happen to be black, female or some other protected group and you differ from their perception of how a "good black person" should think or act and they are suddenly free to say and do horrible things to you. The treatment of Herman Cain, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina are shining examples of racist and sexist hate from the left that is not only tolerated,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it is celebrated.

Contrary to leftist science, there are increasing amounts of ice at both poles and the world is not actually getting hotter. The socialist solution is to demand anyone questioning "global warming" be tried in court and persecuted for some form of sedition and for NOAA to "adjust" temperatures in the past to make the current climate models more accurate. A couple of congressman have had to subpoena the lackeys from NOAA to get an explanation.…

I am personally a little indifferent to the whole climate change scam, but if "science" is provable it can be duplicated by those who believe you are wrong, as well as your supporters. If your theory is true, you should not have to change the past to make it so. By questioning this, some lefty will have a brain seizure and start calling me names.

As we speak, your party is celebrating a woman who runs a $2.5 billion dollar slush fund of bribes and pay-for-play political contributions and you celebrate her. This woman broke dozens of federal laws by conducting the publics business on a private email server, mishandling classified information and collecting money from people who benefited from her decisions and actions while serving the public. You want her for president and want to ignore decades of corruption to get her into the highest office in the land.

You deserve an occasional insult, most of what you propose is insulting to most of America.
