Can't wait to see the film!!
Nothing in the movie for the LGBT community? That kind of intolerance cannot be endorsed or supported, can it? I need a ruling on the field from a political correctness referee.
Leave it alone for crying out loud. This 2010 version just kills all the hard work from the original. Create your own horror flick!! Leave the great classics alone and get your own talent. Damn no talent remakes!!😤😡
I saw this movie on 10/03/2016 at RPS.
The seats are great; the cost of the snacks are very expensive. Feed the kids before you come to the movie.
Tim Burton touch is slipping. The story had too many holes in it to be enjoyable.
The first 30 minutes worked; but the scenes with the ship were so far fetched, no amount of special effects could fill those vast plot holes. Several characters were poorly developed. Wait to watch it for free on cable with a salt shaker; for all the grains you will need to get through it.
The acting and comedy chops of each actress are more than enough to carry any movie; leave it to the ever sexist / racist liberals to focus on their gender versus their talent.
Great review for a brilliant film!
Isn't that why the documentary should be watched? So people can understand what was so very wrong about the entire situation and learn how to better choose our representatives?
Weiner is a loser. He will always be a loser and I don't understand why anyone would bother to make a film about him or even watch a film made about him.
Weiner is the poster-child of what is wrong in politics......
Hi, Rachel. I'm the author of the piece above, and while I agree that *Pitch Perfect 2* is far from a great film, there is no way you can say that the characters are "token." They may mostly be fairly stereotypical, but the situation for women onscreen is so bad that even a female ensemble of stereotypes counts as an improvement for female representation! It's really, really rare to see *so many* women in the same movie, and each depicted as individual people. And there are some notable *good* things in the film's depiction of women: there's a fat character who is depicted as sexual and as someone men find attractive, a woman who appears to get her fill of sex and love, and this is not treated as anything unusual. And networking among women is depicted as a positive and necessary thing: the movie features a professional mentoring relationship between two young women — a college senior and a freshman — which is not something we typically get to see onscreen. (I can’t think of another example.)
Movies about women don't have to be perfect: they just have to be about women! And unless you're going to demand that all movies about men *always* rise above stereotypes, it's not reasonable to expect the same from movies about women.
Why is the picture of the exemplary film to feature women Pitch Perfect? If anything, that film is the perfect example of how films so often feature women in completely token way. It checks off the "having female leads" box without ever having to write truly representative character that is more than a stereotype. I mean, I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but even the Honest Trailer guys think that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-j8XXtwSO0
Wow. I just came from the movie and the exact reaction as the reviewer. What could have been was washed out by nostalgia.
and I thunked he was a tall Howard Wolowitz! Whatta Aqua Maroon! lol
Why do we celebrate this butthead. His mediocre run at the Olympics was a joke. Other Olympians soared off the lift, while he barely made it off the ramp.
The thing I dislike about these movies is that they claim to be true stories. Half the stuff in them is fictionalized to make them more inspirational and dramatic. They are then pawned off as "true" stories to our low-information society.
it may be time to rethink the four star rating system for movies. ok, a guy gets screwed over, loses everything dear to him, and sets out for revenge. basically the plot of both the revenant and deadpool. while the revenant is a painstaking snooze fest that somehow landed multiple Oscar nominations. deadpool however is a soon to be billion dollar grossing hilarious thrill ride that is pleasing audiences world wide. and yet the both received identical 2&1/2 star ratings from the inlander.
I propose we use a ten star system, and give revenant the 3 stars it deserves, while deadpool is clearly a solid ten star effort!

So, you're not going to be seeing the film then?
Yeah, it doesn't, and isn't intended to make fun of a genre. Not sure what gave that impression. Mask? Seriously?
Your review had some credibility until the " Guantanamo " reference.
perhaps these were a basement showing on E. Sprague...
