Re: “They Love It Loud

I saw them in Boise last week, it was definitely the best KISS show I have seen, and I have seen nearly all incarnations of the band. They sounded great and looked liked a band half their age! Paul was rolling around and jumping around, you wouldn't know he has had his hip replaced. If you never heard of KISS and this was your first show, you would have no idea, they were pushing 70!

Re: “Good Spins

Conor from Dancing Plague doesn't pitch shift his vocals or "manipulate" them. That's all natural

Re: “Good Spins

The Local Pavlov EP was done with Gil, Bryan Coats (Black water Prophet) on drums and Ken Wolcott (the Hallows) Jeff and Travis joined after.

Re: “One Night at the Bayou

This reminds me of Liverpool's Cavern Club made legendary by the Beatles. Way cool.

Re: “One Night at the Bayou

As a five-year Bayou resident, and a witness to the first group of Idaho music students to inhabit this magical little spot, I'm a little surprised that the Inlander didn't track down Spokane's own Josh "Grandaddy of the Bayou" Simon for comment!

Fun Fact: There's an Official Bayou Gangsta Rap.

Re: “Showin' Up

No. No. No. Coming from former big Neko Case fan, her show was a dud for a variety of reasons... including but not limited to...

- Unappreciative attitude. Body language and actual language conveyed a strong sense of "F Spokane. I can't wait till this show is over."

- Borderline offensive attire. Stretchy pants and bed head is so cool these days. (It looked like she rolled off her bunk on the bus and begrudgingly walked on stage). * This isn't a misogynistic thing, if a male musician put forth the same lack of effort I'd be just as critical.

- Blatantly despondent backup band. Zero chemistry. None... which I can understand. If my band leader was acting like Neko did I would go on auto pilot too.

- Neko cussing at her audience for using cell phones. (Get over yourself, you can't control the behavior of an individual in the audience).

This show was the biggest turn off I've ever experienced from an artist I considered myself a fan of. It was a bad show. Bad I say! Music writers of all people should have picked up on that, regardless of how much you like the artist's material.

In stark contrast, the Lucinda Williams show killed it. One of the best performances I've seen.

Re: “Wearing the Band

Motörhead 1983 at the Warfield in San Francisco. The fans rushed the stage, dislodged the first three or four rows of seats that were bolted to the floor and I wore the shirt until it dissolved.
