Re: “Two first-hand witnesses recall the citywide pain of the Jim West recall

Why would anyone take the word of a drug lord like Karen 'MaryJane' Stratton?

West got rejected by his GOP base; plain and simple. The democrats took him out along with relish.

This highlights a fundamental difference between the two parties.....even at the local level.....

GOP police their own and take them out if they are an embarrassment; the democrats do the opposite; they embrace their fallen most of the time and defend them.

This explains why the Clintons and especially Hillary are still around.......and Nixon for far fewer offensives was shown the door.....

Re: “Who speaks for Condon recall? The recall petition filer? The #RECALLCONDON page? The Daiquiri Factory guy?

Time for recall slogans. "Recall Condon because grape drinks matter." "Sure we're a ragtag bunch of cranks and loonie lefties, but maybe we're right." "Stuckart will make the trains run on time, even the oil tanker cars."

Re: “Who speaks for Condon recall? The recall petition filer? The #RECALLCONDON page? The Daiquiri Factory guy?

Lol... who cares. We all are pushing for the same goal. #RecallCondon Yall fighting over credit and who is part of which party and who is doing what.. when it will take all of us and 19,000 signatures to get the job done. Those 19,000 signature deserve all the credit. It will take as many people as we can find to get that job done. Then you can point fingers. The actions of Mayor Condons administration, and Police department has and will continue to affect all of us until he is removed from office.

Re: “CONCERT REVIEW: Pat Benatar strolls down memory lane with a night full of hits

This actually was a co-headlining tour. Unfortunately, since the two acts did not alternate opening and closing shows (as Blondie and Melissa did last year) there is a major misconception, and that is the thought that Melissa was the "opener". Perhaps the author had not been to a Melissa Etheridge concert before and was not aware that she always plays an extended version of "Like The Way I Do" as her encore. Fans love to see her guitar jams, and it's definitely fun and great to see her on the drums as well. In fact, I have seen many comments from those who were there to see Pat Benatar, who were thoroughly impressed with her skills, and left the show as Melissa fans specifically because they found them to be quite her strong suit indeed. :)

Re: “Spokane considers Columbus Day, sheep killed in fire and other morning headlines

An ordinance against elephant hooks, a pointless proclamation against TPP. an obviously unconstitutional ballot intiative against railroad shipments of oil and now this. They can argue about the name of Columbus Day, but in the City Council every day is Dumbass Day.

Re: “Two first-hand witnesses recall the citywide pain of the Jim West recall

Let's call it what it was and stop rationalizing it. West was the victim of bigotry and homophobia, and many of those who peresecuted him now preach diversity.

Mayor Condon and stop lying and covering things up and ignoring the processes he put in place after his first 2 police chief hiring fiascos, why is that so much to ask?

I don't get rewarded at my job for lying, cheating, covering things up and hijacking the hiring process!

Thank you Mr. Breen.

Good Attorney too. I was about three feet from him when he kicked the mod to the curb during "Meidl Faux-Forum One". Guy is quick.

Re: “Retired cop files Straub-related public records claim against the city

City of Spokane - Municipal Government / City of Spokane Police Department always seem to scramble when it comes to releasing public records. Now we will hold Mayor #RecallCondon's administration responsible for withholding public records. This is the 1st of many lawsuits to come. Btw... Can I get my public records request completed please. You holding me up also!

Re: “Actually nevermind, the city council probably won't vote on Craig Meidl's appointment tonight

Whoaaa stop the presses. What do you mean Medl isn't going to be the chief. I saw the mayor make him the chief. I even saw Medls daughter pin a badge on him. Don't tell me it was one of those sticker badges the cops give out. This mayor is a complete disaster. Has he done anything right recently. Worse yet is these guys willing to let the mayor parade them around for his benefit. Just look at the previous two chiefs dubrow and macdivitt. Does any of these chiefs and now Medl have any self respect? I can't believe Medl is willing to drag his family through this circus so he can be the next mayors boy. I actually feel sad for Medl and his family having to explain this mess to their friends and others.

Re: “Spokane deputy's post about Black Lives Matter sparks debate among local law enforcement

Black people commit crimes at a rate 10 times higher than White and Hispanics combined. Throw that statistic in with the statistic that they are killed at a higher rate. Look it up it's true.

Re: “Spokane deputy's post about Black Lives Matter sparks debate among local law enforcement

How fortunate that BLM members aren't "professionals" so they can say whatever they want, act like thugs and get away with advocating murder. Meanwhile a cop expresses his frustration that both the government and society they're protecting seems to be in support of all this hatred and points out something important about BLM yet that's unprofessional? I love how BLM is down playing their lack of an appearance in a real disaster, they only seem to be around to create them. BLM is all about 'the big picture' right up until how full of $h!t they are becomes public, then they back step, play the obfuscation game and try to play it off like they're just about police shootings. They decided to take a stand as a face for the entire black community and it's rights, if they weren't full of it this wouldn't even be an issue, they would have been there to begin with. When they're killing cops it's for their rights and to better their community, but when their community actually needs then, they're just about the cops? Do we have any expectations of anyone anymore or can people just exhale anything and not be held accountable these days?
