Re: “The Hateful Eight

Another Tarantino comedy... cursing, killing, beautiful cinematography, crispy dialog and fun to watch acting by all.

Re: “Kingsman: The Secret Service

Raunchy, vulgar, full of swearing and lots of horrible violence blowing peoples heads off. Even a scene suggesting and leading up to anal intercourse. And it would not be complete without a wife beater scene or two.

No not see this movie if you are a family that cares about morals and ethics.

Disgusting waste of money and time.

Re: “Class Act

Good lord. This is incoherent. Are you suggesting rich people should just live adjacent to poor people? For what reason? Do you, Mariah, live amongst hobos? Are you willing to sacrifice all of your wealth (maybe at least the cost of your next jaunt to New England) so that you might understand the crackhead better? Maybe everybody should just have equal everything. Sounds plausable. Hey, at least broad oversimplification is constructive (sarcasm). Btw, I feel no shame in filing a code complaint about MY neighbor because he had stacked "junk" (piles of putrid mattresses) in his yard. It's not necessarily a class thing. It's a rats-and-plague-and-mold-and-disease thing. At least the code department of Spokane agrees with my opinion.

Re: “Class Act

People living in poverty do in fact think of themselves as living in poverty, sometimes that's the only think they can think about. This is not mutually exclusive from their feeling "down on their luck."

Re: “Class Act

Must be nice to be from rich family and go on luxuries New England family vacations. I'm sure Tara could have found a B&B in a Boston ghetto. Another naive " rich guilt " article for sure

Re: “Think Global, Tax Local

If it passes it won't survive a court challenge.

Best to let some other state be the guinea pig for something like this and see if the Carbon Con Men are right.

Re: “Trump vs. Jesus

Great article! As a Christian I gave up on the Republicans when they did nothing about Roe vs.
Wade when they had the presidency, the supreme court and the congress under Bush 2. I really admire Max Lacado for saving what he did about Trump.

Re: “CONCERT REVIEW: Bonnie Raitt gives Spokane something to talk about

Unfortunately Allen Stone was directly 2 rows behind me and clapped so loud as to block out the band..He does have good meter, but ruined many songs for all those around him...I thought he was retarded or something.

Re: “WA Supreme Court overrules judge's order for homeless woman to pay $15 monthly fines

Who was the judge. Benton County actually has a record of this. The cost of living is so high in that town I had to move to Spokane just to survive. You can't survive on 750.00 per month in the tri cities. I could hardly survive there even when I was working for Amazon.

Re: Disrespect on 9/11

Some, including me, choose not to give Al-Qaeda the satisfaction of participating in any rituals to commemorate their despicable act of cowardice and murder on 9/11. We mourn the victims in our own way, perhaps on Memorial Day or other times of our choosing, without waving flags at half-staff, which is our First Amendment right. Perhaps if there were less nationalistic flag-waving we would not be supplying billions of dollars in arms to an apartheid nation or still be engaged in an endless war against a word, terrorism, that has killed a hundred times more innocent lives than were lost on 9/11.

I dunno, some rich people are truly living in a bubble and we do them a favor by bursting it.

Yawn.

What another non story about a non issue......

We still haven't had an accounting of why Ben Stuckart went to Ireland on the tax payers nickel and how that helped the people of the City of Spokane.....

What business does the City of Spokane do with Ireland?????

Re: “To Kill the Black Snake

Hello Everyone.
I'm glad this pipeline is being discussed. I'm an oil investor and a lover of our earth. Go head - laugh. Now let me speak. You already voted for this pipeline ( and I truly wish you didn't ) Each and every one of you did. Every time you buy gasoline or flip on a switch or buy food at a market - you just gave us your consent to keep drilling for oil. You tell us to drill for oil by using it - and the energy and the access to goods it provides. You vote with your money. Each time you spend it. And those dollars are each 1000 times more powerful than whatever candidate you vote for, or protest you attempt. You see, your money is your endorsement of an action. What you say doesn't matter if your actions contradict what you say. All land is sacred. Every inch of Earth is just as sacred as every other inch. Just because you can see This pipeline you don't like it. Well- to keep up with all the oil and gas everyone keeps demanding - via buying it- we keep drilling and building pipelines. Would it be better if it was running through some else's backyard? Somebody else's sacred ground? My most sacred ground is where ever my children play. You seem to be attached to where your ancestors are buried. If you wish to honestly protest oil- STOP BUYING IT ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: “I Saw You

To whoever wrote to wish Bisexuals a Happy Bi-Visibility Day...THANK YOU!!!! 😘 My son-in-law (married to my son) is bisexual and this meant SO MUCH to him. He and my son were getting ready to head out the door for an overseas trip when I showed this to him and my son. Both of them thank you so much for your recognition and support of bisexuality. I also thank you! And that post above this one? I totally don't understand it if it was about that. I didn't see anywhere that it said walk tall...just stand tall. And my son-in-law is doing just that!

Re: “Trump vs. Jesus

Incredibly powerful words from you dad and mom. Even as a liberal, I appreciated every aspect of this article, and could understand what your parents felt. I could only imagine their difficult decision on what to do/who to vote for. They are good people to stick by their faith and recognize that Trump truly has nothing in common- from his multi marriages to his seedy business deals to his humiliation of those he see "less" than he is.

I've seen a good friend change from Republican to Independent, because Trump is not what his Republican Party stood for- he is not the party of Abraham Lincoln. I've had conversations with my conservative mother-in-law about the matter- and feels just as strongly as your parents do due to her faith, and would rather see Hilary win.

This article should hit home so for many, no matter what side of the aisle you are on. We all have those in our lives feeling this conundrum and I truly hope this helps open their eyes.

Re: “Why was Spokane Police Capt. Brad Arleth removed from his big race-data project?

Signs of just how deep the problems are, and will remain unless the right decision is made regarding a new Chief of Police of Police and New Direction for SPD.

Another sad commentary, and likely more to come!
