Re: “Patients and Prisoners

Its a great place to stick people if they see an officer involved death of a fifteen year old Ryan Holy, as they attempted to say Joseph Bodman never struck him for a year and a half. Its a terrifying place when your not crazy like Im not, as there is so very sick and dangerous people there. I know I was there, and thank God everyday they had a phycologist Dr. Brooks England Phd. who actually did her job. Once a label has been stuck on your screwed.

Re: “'Why Aren't They Digging?'

Law enforcement personnel (LEP) should be under the same scrutiny as if law enforcement was not involved in a shooting. This is a more serious case of the investigation not given the same scrutiny as others would have. Another case of a LEP getting off easier is when an officer in Idaho was over .20 bac in her private vehicle and ended up in a ditch. She got the same fine as others got as well as classes, but she kept her license and job. This is the same person that would be giving citations. I don't agree that all are bad, but there are cases that are. I have been given a break on a couple instances that were minor. They should be setting the example though.

Re: “Fighting Words

Mayor David Condon, Could You Imagine Your Child Being Hit By A Cop Car and Being Told He Just Fell Off His Bike?

Have you seen the picture of the face of Ryan Holyk after he got to the hospital? I spent seven minutes with the night of May 23, 2014.

The blow Ryan's head recieved caused so much bleeding the pooling blood wasn't allowing him to get air, as his face rested on the payment. I knew he would soon drown.

I told Charlie Price, I had to do something and chanced turning Ryan's head. I used my fingers and then a corner of a bar towel to scoop out a mass of blood and mucus so large. The bland taste of bone marrow hung in the air.

I have been forever changed by those seven minutes. I believe it was a miracle that Ryan ever regained consciousness, answering his mother's prayer that he would awake and know who she was.

Ryan was allowed to say goodbye and know what happened to him as he had no memory of seeing the car that struck him. Sometimes we only get a delay in what was to be, and not the reprieve from death that we hoped for.

God allowed me that part of my prayer that night as I looked up to heaven and asked God to help me make it better. I knew I couldn't ask for Ryan to live he was hurt so badly.

I told Ryan there was a God hoping my words and touch could reach him through pain and darkness he felt after his face was impacted by the corner of the bumper at sixty miles an hour.

The Community of Spokane and Spokane Valley held vigil hoping for a greater miracle that would never be. Others with darkness in their heart conspired to create an obstruction of justice under a dark color of law, hoping to hide the truth.

They violated a communities civil rights in the process, and hid material facts from Ryan family, Deputy Joseph Bodman, and every man woman and child of the City of Spokane and Spokane Valley.

Ryan was called home his injury too grievous, and way to young for those who knew and loved him to spend eternity with God.

Lord hear my prayer, help make this better as it's so wrong in so many ways. Help me make his better by learning the truth of how so many things went wrong, and how we can keep this from happening again.

When does an accident become a crime? When people lie and mislead and criminally interfere in a conspiracy to obstruct justice.

If you allow this practice of lying to protect from tort, over public safety, accountability, and civil rights, without stepping up and saying truth matters more than limiting liability. Your perpetuating a crime after the fact, and assume your own culpability and shame.

What's it going to take before you step up and demand truth and accountability, having your own child killed when they could have been spared? Shame on you all who knew the truth, but hid behind a lie.

It's just not right.

Re: “'Hookerville' Revisited

Looking forward to seeing the pedestrian bridge completed. It will have tremendous benefits to both E Sprague and the U District.

Re: “'Why Aren't They Digging?'

Whether a court of law ever disposes this Lesser-man as such, we can all agree that he is a murderer. Court's of "law" tend to enforce that mission rather meekly when swine are under the yoke, I wish this family luck. Justice would be Lesser-man selling his house to pay for legal bills, I hope they go after him personally.

Headline is wrong "It shouldn't HAVE happened." Not "OF"

Re: “Pardon Me

Oh blessed are we who are confined to the yoke of leviathan. Let us all be prostrate to thee. Let us marvel in thy forgiveness and mercy. Let us enjoy the blessings that leviathan has betrothed to us all and let us bow to the infinite wisdom of our one true god, the State--peace be upon its name. Amen!

Re: “Lifting All Boats?

muddydog - so along with the increased minimum wage there should be a mandate protecting workers from getting hours cut, and a mandate of fair distribution of profits as the higher ups often make way more than needed or deserved. Also, more people earning disposable income means more stimulation of the economy. That's a pretty basic principle you are leaving out

Re: “Well Wishers

A comment here. They should a land use plan 60 years ago here.I'm in Pend Oreille County on the south end and well water is damn hard to find here. Most of the 5 and 10 acre people would be better living in Spokane.
We do have a State of Washington water right here. The ranch been here for over 90 years now.DOE knew that ground water was short here and not much of it.They kept up the sub division land for people to move here.
What going to happen now?Senior water right holders sue the DOE over water here.Tom Eagle

It is horrible Otto Zehm died. There are plenty of cases that should outrage people such as a child being removed from a home a year and nine months ago and the Court figured out CPS was right the whole time. There was no abuse. How does that happen?

While we're highlighting SCANDAL in Spokane, you glaringly omitted one! Allow me to fill in the blanks on the Jim West debacle, and expose the scandal within the scandal.
With solid knowledge of West's background, the Spokesman Review (Cowles) endorsed West for Mayor with a belief that he would be presiding over the resolution of the RiverPark Square Parking Garage fiasco between Cowles and the City. The Spokesman started its initial investigative report about West's involvement with the Boy Scouts, before West could even warm his seat as Mayor. This investigation was started for a reason--to have the goods on West to guarantee that he would deliver in favor of Cowles on the parking garage settlement. Having the goods was so important, that when the Boy Scout abuse story didn't damn West, exploiting his known proclivities, the Spokesman resorted to entrapping West. The Spokesman paid a Private Investigator to pose as a 17-year-old boy to lure him into wrong-doing. When that ploy didn't catch any fish, they aged the bait to 18 years old, and cast another line. They caught their whale in 2004!
So, why didn't they go to press!? Oh, yeah! There's still that pesky little problem of settling the parking garage issue between Cowles and the City. On 27 April 2005, West did indeed, broker the settlement between the City and Cowles, and Cowles lost $5 MILLION in the deal! EIGHT DAYS LATER, on 5 May, the Spokesman Review published its very damning, and eventually destroying article outing Mayor Jim West.
I don't condone anything Jim West may have done, but his wrongs are but one scintilla of the wrong committed by Cowles (and his newspaper). This scandal is so scandalous that journalism schools across the country use it as a case-study in journalistic ethics (or, in this case, the lack thereof).

Re: “False Start?

Gag. Spokane is awash in a sea of foul conservatism. Puke, puke, puke. Hopefully more and more lefties from the coast will move here and change the political landscape to a more balanced land, because this is MY freaking city and state too, and these dinosaurs don't represent me.

Re: “Coincidence Or Crime?

But again and again, it;'s the old us vs them and how do we baddies get away with stealing and we good guys must get tough on ourselves and produce actions that firmly push back the bad criminal element at the top policical element, and set in place the checks and balances that need to get and stay in place on a very, very , very permenent framework of the governmental bodies.

Re: “Skunked

I know where that cannabis farm is, and it used to be a SUPER EXTRA STINKY CHICKEN/EGG FARM. The weed scent can only be an improvement...
In addition, I say waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. It's not toxic. It doesn't cause health problems. The plants add oxygen to the air. Plus it's helping to DUMP HUGE AMOUNTS OF TAX DOLLARS INTO THIS COUNTY WHICH ARE DIRELY NEEDED. Sometimes ya just have to suck it up for the greater good, ya know?
Maybe dude should partake and chill...
