I am glad to see an article about GMO´s but was disappointed that the writer did not know that Connecticut, Maine and Alaska have passed labeling laws and did not mention that dozens of other states are considering identical proposals. Here is a great link giving facts to dispute the misinformation coming out about this law: http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_28148.cfm
I find all of this interesting. I would like to have some links to go to so that I can verify these facts since my conservative friends will undoubtedly say it is wrong. Republicans have such short memories when it involves their own party and the deficit. All congressmen spend, that is their job and if it is done well the state benefits. I often wonder if blue states get less because during the Bush years the congressmen in control (the republicans) locked us out of many opportunities. I don´t want dems to do the same thing back but I do want the money to be evened out. Should not matter if a state is red or blue. We are all Americans and deserve to be treated equally. Thanks for an interesting article.
I have had some dealings with the county commissioners and have always felt uncomfortable with both Todd Meilke and Mark Richards, but after you talk to Bonnie, you have a feeling that you are talking to one of us. She is truly the only commissioner that keeps an eye on what the county´s priorities really are. The others say they are looking out for us but when you see where the money is going then you know that isn´t true.
Thank God for Bonnie!
I enjoyed this article and knowing that Siddoway supports the ACLU only makes me want to vote for her more.
I so enjoyed your comment until you strted bashing Kathy for not taking care of her baby. You wondered if you were tackling a sacred cow and I have to say "yes". Noone ever mentions that men should be spending more time with their kids no matter what the needs. Their homelife is left out of it unless of course they are caught having an affair. I think I prefer to leave the child care issues to the family and focus on the actual politics.
I haven´t liked anything Cathy McMorris said so far. She voted for Bush´s budget with all of its deficit spending and then blasts the Dems for us having such a large deficit. There are so many issues to blast Cathy for that one does not have to pick on her family life too.
Thank you Spovangelist, for writing exactly what I was thinking. I wish I could say the following as well as you have said it.
Nethercutt blames Obama for the publics poor opinion of Congress when that number dropped the most during the Bush Admin. He doesn´t seem to understand that we, the people, want to see our congressmen actually standing up to big corporations/banks who try to control our lives. We want the US to stop policing the world and start making sure big business uses "best" safety standards and treats the working class with respect. Nethercutt doesn´t offer any real sollutions to our lack of faith in Congress.
