How unpleasant to try to take cheap shots at someone because they have the "temerity" to run for public office. Would a "racist bigot" spend a year as a volunteer helping poor communities in Africa? No. You obviously have not spoken to Michael Baumgartner or looked into his background. If you had, you´d see that you were way off the mark. He cares deeply about our state and comes across as very balanced and personable.
On top of that, SpokaneCougar clearly has very little understanding of what the tea party movement represents. It´s a movement not a party, and it reflects the genuine concerns of many citizens over the direction being taken by our leaders, particularly when it comes to increasing levels of taxation and growth of government. I´m writing as someone who has no involvement with the tea party, but who can understand a large part of where they´re coming from on these issues. As far as I know, they´re not endorsing ANY candidates.
From my own research, I think that Michael Baumgartner has good ideas for our state, particularly when it comes to winding back the massive spending increases of recent years - and that´s what matters most to me.
