Come on guys, this article was BS from the first letter. I have never read a more biased piece of "journalism" in my life. And I am even more disappointed hearing this latest piece from the editor of all people. Maybe instead of writing this bogus "rebuttal", you should have just posted the letters from the City and County. They obviously care about getting it right. The point of this last article was that the City did not give an explanation for the main part of the article but that is not true. They responded to it in the first paragraph of the letter! The original article was not even based on facts, it was 90% opinion. And that is bad reporting. Do the police need to be policed? Absolutely, they should be held accountable for their actions in accordance with the law. But anyone who expects the police department to be perfect should first look in the mirror and then go out on a ride along and try to picture yourself in their shoes. All I can say is.....USE FACTS NOT OPINION if you are writing an article claiming to represent the best interests of the public. And by all means do some research before you spew out inaccurate information to sensationalize your story. The Strong Arm of the Law can officially be considered FICTION.
