The Manito Duck pond has been there for over 100 years. People have been feeding the ducks all that time. Now it is a problem? Give me a break. 1)The ducks are not an endangered species, 2)No known epidemics are traceable to Manito Duck Pond 3)There is no one complaining of odors from the pond 4)There has been no large scale duck kill from failing to fly south for the winter. I think if the so called biologists and environmentalists are so concerned about Manito Duck Pond, they should be fired and allowed to find jobs that are REALLY important.
While I agree that Mr Brauenstein is not a part of the solution. His attitude is only a part of the problem.
What I personally found to be a bigger problem is the limited choices in the Spokane area for both instruction and practice. For instance, no one teaches two-step or zydeco. Considering the conservative community in Spokane, I would think they would cater to the local core community. Instead they prefer to cater to the popular fads that come and go like the wind. They lament that the young people who follow these fads are not steady clients for the long haul, yet they do nothing to cater to the desires of those who do remain in the community and are more interested in something more conservative. They are out of touch with the community they live in.
