No elected official is instrumental to the Inland NW Leadership PAC and it has many individual small donors from the community. For Condon to play in politics at this level as Spokane's Mayor is highly inappropriate, but it's to be expected after the $60k he laundered through his Party in his "I'm non-partisan" mayoral election. Just the underhanded, heavy-handed way he's always operated and continues to now in and out of City Hall. It's sad but not surprising.
"If I had actually been aware that it only had been copied and pasted, I would have made it my own," she told The Inlander Friday. She´s not aware of what´s in her mailings? She´s not aware of what´s on her web site??? Is this what we can expect from her if elected? Who will be reading her bills and running her legislative priorities and activities since she seems to be comfortable with just leaving it to others even now without all the complications of the legislature. And BTW ... pla·gia·rize : to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one´s own : use (another´s production) without crediting the source http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionaryHer "Issues" were copied from her Party word for word, typos and all, without a mention of where it came from. Yes -- her ISSUES page -- the meat of her campaign - the outline of what her priorities are for our district and what she´ll do about them was taken verbatim from her Party´s west side leaders. She obviously hasn´t a clue. Spokane deserves real representation and that´s not her.
We have plenty of evidence in Eastern WA that voters make very bad choices every election and Mike Baumgartner is certainly no exception. He´s an empty suit opportunist who achieved his current position by looking good, embellishing his experience and surrounding himself with political operatives who are happy to help people like him achieve their narcissistic goals in exchange for being Party tools when in office. Unfortunately, like Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Kevin Parker, David Condon and others, that system seems to be working here so while Baumgartner doesn´t have a chance in hell against Cantwell (who is a great U.S. Senator for Eastern WA, BTW), yes, it´s likely he´ll continue to rise in politics. It´s the Eastern WA way.
McLaughlin and her allies have no concern for whether she´s good for the job and only that she may be a good fit to exploit a political opportunity. One of the only reasons Spokane has seen any of the progress it has over the past decades (Medical School, YW, the Fox to name just a few) and that our pubic schools and critical non-profits have continued to excel in spite of the worst recession since the depression is because of Lisa Brown.Lisa is uber-smart and ever-mindful of the community she serves. McLaughlin and her Party will run a negative and stay off her qualifications and radical record because she doesn´t have a leg to stand on. Personally, I´m glad she gave me this opportunity to talk about just the opposite - everything Lisa has done for Spokane.
David Condon deserves to be exposed for what he is - a radically conservative political operative looking to firmly imbed DC politics into Spokane´s government. The dollars given to the Inland NW Leadership PAC by more than 80 donors is a pittance compared to the chits he and McMorris Rodgers can bring in (nearly $200k so far!), but at least its something to help ensure voters have all the information and not just what Condon wants them to.
