John Glenewinkle is the best superintendent this district has had in decades, and I applaud the school board for renewing his contract. In the past three years he has been faced with tough choices and seriously stupid people. He is employed by a district where students are allowed to skate by, failing their adequate yearly progress year after year. He has begged and pleaded and finally put his foot down and demanded to get changes implemented at EVMS so that now there are a few more kids entering into ap classes. He is a good leader but he doesn´t go around talking about how great he is. If the district has FAILED to pass three bonds in 18 months to fix up these old and inadequate middle schools, why would anything other than re-structuring make sense? Kids do better in K-8 schools academically and that has been proven over and over again. K-8 kids behave better than than kids who are transitioned into a middle-school with hundreds of other same-grade kids. K-8 schools have been around for a LOT LONGER than middle schools have. Those jackasses working so hard to make sure this bond fails have no factual data to base the decision on except for " I DON´T LIKE IT BECAUSE IT WASN´T MY IDEA." They´re loud, rude, and downright obnoxious. Do they want to pretend the status quo is good enough? Do they think we´re all just simple country folk who don´t really need a quality education? Not the best argument, if you ask me. To the people who (laughingly) call themselves "CITIZENS FOR ACCOUNTABLE EDUCATION.." shut THE HELL UP. You´re only hurting the kids.
