Dear Mr. Herold,You are an idiot…your recent article for the Inlander entitled “More of the same? Was such a superficial indictment of David Condon that I had to respond? First let me establish a little about who I am, I am a 66 yr old partially disabled unemployed long time Democrat. So I am not one of the “High Roller” Republicans you insinuate are the only people supporting David Condon. Let’s start with your assumptions. True David grew up in a prominent local family. The truth is yes he is the 9th child of Dr. John and Carolu Condon. His father Dr. John Condon instilled in all of his children a great work ethic and a commitment to give back to the community in which they live. That is why David is entering politics to make a better place for his children to grow up. He is committed to our community, in all its aspects.Your comments on David’s 9 years in the Military are ridiculous. Your assumption that unless you were on the front a line in combat, your military experience does not count is an insult to the hundreds of thousands of people in this country serving in our military who never see the front lines. Their service to this country is no less important that those on the front lines. You go on to condemn David for accepting donations from business, or economic development teams saying this is inacceptable and right wing and will be more of the same is ridiculous. David is willing to partner with business because we need jobs and our small companies need to be able to make a living so they can create jobs is what Spokane and the rest of the country need during this recession. Remember now I am a long time democrat whose career the past 50 years was in Business and Financial Management. In summary, you have attacked David Condon by saying he’s new and untried, then go on to say it will be more of the same…. Won’t re-electing Mary Verner be more of the same?????
