My husband had a debt last year of $1000 ( for not wearing a helmet while on a 4-wheeler) The debt was at this time in a collection agency in Spokane called Armada. He was able to pay $50 a paycheck (every 2 weeks) and the debt was paid. Armada was very nice to us. Collectors have been coming out of the woodwork this past year due to stupid procrastination on my husbands and his xs behalf. He was served through a place called V-debt at his place of work for a collection totaling $430.00. He called them back and from the beginning of the conversation they were nothing but mean and rude. He asked them if he could pay $50 a paycheck and she said "No way" we need at least $200 a paycheck. Well he said I of course can not due that. And that was that. Then a month or so later he gets a Court like brief in the mail saying that it went to court and they are to start garnishing his wages. The total stated on the paperwork was $750.00. It had an attorney fee of $110.00 and we still can not see how it went from $430 to $750 in a months time. It said on the paperwork that his wages was to be garnished (did not state by how much) and we had a certain amount of days to more or less take it to Court. It said that if we take it to court the Judge can more or less through our case out or rule against us and then we would be liable for all of those court fees and their attorney fees. So what in the hell were we suppose to do????????? His last check was garnished $299.00 and now this next one will also be garnished for the same. We will not be able to pay rent on time and a few of our bills are getting shut off tomorrow. You know, we are barely a middle class family. My husband works 40 miles out of town. We use about $500 a month on gas. We now have full custody of his son. We can not get ahead. Everyday has been an uphill battle and we have both turned into walking depressed zombies. And to top if off now all of this. We are suppose to be moving next month into a larger town so I can be able to look for work and now this is not going to happen. We can not make it like this and see our lives going down the drain.
