What a shocker. They spend exorbitant amounts of money on hiring union actors and staging massive shows like "Mary Poppins" and "Ragtime" when there are simply not the ticket sales to support such practices. And on top of that, the productions are very rarely worth the nearly $50 ticket price. I have never seen a show there and left thinking that my $50 was well spent. Also how dare Michelle Mendez attempt to lay some of the blame on the patrons with that passive-aggressive line "we will have a good idea as to whether people care enough for us to continue." It is a shame that this theatre is going under, but the writing has been on the wall for quite a while now. I suppose no one decided to read or heed it.
Y.A.K. Johnson even being remotely involved in this theatre community is what is unhealthy. She got fired because she´s an evil, manipulating bully. She is not welcome any longer in this community. Her reign of terror is over once and for all.
She has unfortunately not done wonders for the theatre community here. Yvonne has torn apart our wonderful community with her bullying and manipulation. She has pushed away many talented performers and volunteers from Civic's stage. The theatre community will not miss her, she is not welcome in Spokane any longer. Search Facebook for Civic Doody to read more about why she is not welcome.
