It´s ludicrous for anyone to take this "data" at face value. There´s only one person who can predict something like this with any belief, and if you are religious minded, then you know who I speak of. I´m more concerned about the reasoning of this data having been publicized in the first place. Mother Jones, known for being left-wing politically, has in recent years become more grocery store check-out stand tabloid, then reading material one can depend on for being cutting edge to a degree, and always striving for bringing out truths that might be missing from other papers. To read this announcement about yet again impending tragedy is highly irresponsible and improbable. Rather then be frightened by what this data says will happen....one should laugh it off and line the bird cage with it. It was gleaned from the Mother Jones data base. How good is that? Who is responsible for inputting the information? Computers are only as good as the operators who tend the data. What are the safeguards for the information? You can find data on everything under the sun, including data on when the sun will someday burn out, like a huge candle in a strong gust of wind. Who told this person that we need this kind of "data" to learn from. Haven´t we already learned enough? Haven´t we learned to bury little children before Christmas? Haven´t we learned to watch ourselves when we go to a shopping mall? Who hasn´t learned to walk across a Walmart parking lot with a group of people if we can? We already have learned more then we need to. We don´t need Mother Jones to spit out a huge "prediction" of data to have us learn more. We´re done learning. We´re in the midst now of doing something about it.
