The FDA has never performed nor required a single independent safety study of GE food. Not one. They use a theory called "substantial equivalence" which presupposes that if a GE crop has roughly the same protein, carbs, etc as non GE counterpart then it must be safe. That is not a safety study. If we apply this standard to beef, a cow with BSE(mad cow disease) would be "substantially equivalent" to a healthy cow, but it is obviously NOT SAFE.
Until we have REAL long term independent safety tests on GE food, LABEL IT so I can opt-out of the experiment.
