*sheepishly* I remember FireHouse, Danger Danger and Britny Fox. And Bang Tango, BulletBoys, Junkyard, Dangerous Toys, Kix, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, and on and on and on. Loved it, and still rock out to it occasionally.
I am not sure we went to the same concert. I felt the light show was amazing but that the complexity got in the way of NIN being, well, a band. It felt really sterile and a lot of the music was lost on me (I will admit that after Downward Spiral I am a casual fan at best). I saw them on the Downward Spiral tour (with the Jim Rose Sideshow Circus and Marilyn Manson opening) and it was a much different show. The thing I think best represents how I felt about last night's concert was that it lacked the element of danger that made their earlier work so compelling. Had I gone to the show expecting to see a spectacle (like Cirque du Soleil) and not a band performing I might have enjoyed it more. But the amount of precision the light show required from the performance took something away from what I was hoping to see. Then again, maybe my tastes have changed in the last 20 years.
