Re: “How much will the city's switch to recycled paper really cost?

If council president Stuckart thinks that $25K is no big deal then perhaps he wouldn't mind if we took it from his salary. It's thinking like this that has gotten us into the fiscal crapstorm we're in. EVERY DOLLAR MATTERS WHEN IT COMES FROM TAXPAYERS!

Re: “Burritos on Wheels

For $8 these burritos must be exceptional. Patty's sells them for under $6 and Atilano's, Gerardo's, and Abilardo's all around $5 with seemingly higher overhead. I wish them the best if luck but don't know if the market will bear their prices.

Re: “City Council to vote on new food truck rules tonight

I suspect that the brick and mortar operators are pulling some strings and adding some pressure. Councilman Snyder call mobile food vendors them "disruptive" I'm the sense that they are challenging the norms and changing the way people think and conduct business. He said the same thing about Uber and Lyft and Air BnB They're only disruptive in the sense that our government has not yet figured out how to extract money from them. People like Snyder who hate big business and want to tax them to death is out to do the same thing to these food truck operators and everyone else on an individual basis. It's not about cost recovery, it's about redistribution. We'll take your money because we know better how to spend it. STOP ELECTING PEOPLE LIKE THIS!!

Re: “PHOTOS: The Display House Closing After 32 Years of Business

World changed, their business model didn't. Look at the success of Spirit Halloween and the other new seasonal in Spokane. I'm sad to see local die but this world is harshly competitive. It may indeed be that Display House had better quality stuff but for a seasonal, often one time item low price may be the biggest driving factor.
