Re: “Lawsuit alleges Spokane jail violated rights by denying medications

“I don’t really believe that it is that big of an issue,” Knezovich says. “We have one individual who is trying to make it an issue.” Really.... not a good answer. Why would you deny anyone there prescribed medication, especially with a Court Order? . That is beyond the attitude of a Bully.

County Law Enforcement Personal trump, a Court Order.... Law Enforcement are paid by citizens. All persons involved in this should be held in, Contempt of the Court. and should swiftly be terminated. Even if there wasn't a Court order. This young mans, well being, health and life were jeopardized.

If Law Enforcement Personnel do not follow the laws with the upmost Integrity and Compassion for people, why should they be protected?? We pay there salaries, not the Guild.

You break the Law... you break your Contract... Many people put there lives on line to keep this Country and our Communities safe and I would be the first to Thank Them... Law Enforcement is a chosen profession, and it comes knowingly with risks, spare me the excuses, and denial of wrong doing. But unnecessary and unusually cruelties by Law Enforcement should not or cannot be minimized or tolerated in a civilized society.

The now excuses of, we will look at the Policy and Procedures, really.. we need a Policy to allow someone medical attention. We spend a tremendous amount of money for training Law Enforcement. This is inexcusable. To start a campaign that demeans the victim and their family is arrogant and repulsive.

I commend you folks for standing up. Good Luck

Re: “Not in My Backyard

Excellent article, to bad. very sad. Communities need to decide if we are going to give some people a second chance and try to rehabilitate them or we financially going to sustain a crime and punishment society. Law Enforcement will continue to become more aggressive and less transparent to their actions. We are spending less and less on education, how many new cop cars were purchased this year. We need to take off the shades our future is not that bright....

Re: “Patients at Eastern, Western State Hospitals file civil rights lawsuit

Most Crime's committed are engaged by a person with a mental illness or is abusing drugs. Most people that abuse drugs have a mental illness. Our communities are infiltrated with highly addictive drugs, chemically handmade progressive drugs, prescription drugs, and alcohol abuse. As communities we need to ask why these drugs are being allowed to become infiltrated and what is our future plans to combat these drugs? This was an excellent article. The stigma on people using mental illness as a defense is completely unwarranted. What happen to rehabilitation? A crime and punishment society gains nothing.....Mental Illness should be brought to the forefront of conversations without shame.
