California's system provides an equal and level playing field for all voters to participate. The new system has created the most practical and well-functioning legislature in decades.
Under the old system, no third party ever won. Elections were decided in the primary 95% of the time. California and Washington systems are the only system that give VOTERS an equal right. We need to look past party labels and stop viewing primaries through the lens of parties. This is a voting rights issue, not a party issue.
