The Lands Council taught effective beaver management back when very few understood it. Now there are cities across the west coast learning how and why to live with beavers. My own city installed a flow device 7 years ago to prevent flooding from a beaver dam. The beavers remained and kept others away with their naturally territorial behaviors, and now because of their expert wetlands we regularly see otter, heron, steelhead and mink in our urban stream.
Any one smarter than a beaver should know how (and why) to co-exist with a beaver.
