Nearly every big city with a thriving music scene has that one radio station -- or that one show -- that every fan listens to and every artist wants to make an appearance on when they're rolling through town. In L.A., it's Nic Harcourt's legendarily taste-making Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW. In Minneapolis, it's the Current on Minnesota Public Radio.
In Spokane, your best shot to get on the air -- although KPBX occasionally airs local talent -- is Thin Air Radio, KYRS. You should pay particular attention to the programs Battlestar Eclectica and Spotucky Radio, among others.
But if you're playing in Seattle next month and you really don't want to be playing for just a couple drunks and your second cousin Lester from Tukwila, get in touch with a radio station and find out if they might have you on-air.
