BEST TOURING THEATER PRODUCTION OF THE PAST YEAR -My Fair Lady

With no monster production like Phantom of the Opera or Miss Saigon to snarf up all the votes this year, the Best Touring Theater Production race was a fun one to watch. In the end, the recent run of My Fair Lady at the Opera House won top honors. The Lerner and Loewe tale of a cockney girl who learns to walk and talk like a lady has been stealing hearts since its Broadway debut in 1956, winning nine Tony awards its first year and later becoming a beloved Audrey Hepburn film. The Best of Broadway production that came to Spokane, starring Lauren King and Adam MacDonald, remained true to the spirit of its source (George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion) and evoked Eliza Doolittle, Henry Higgins and all the rest for a new legion of theater fans.

2nd: Beauty and the Beast
3rd: Chicago
