by INLANDER STAFF & r & & r & A THOUSAND YEARS OF GOOD PRAYERS & r & & r & It takes a thousand years of good prayers for a father and daughter to get along, or so goes a Chinese prophesy. Filmed in Spokane in 2007 and directed by Wayne Wang (The Joy Luck Club, Maid in Manhattan), it's the story of a father who comes from China to reconnect with a daughter who has moved to America. QUANTUM OF SOLACE

Daniel Craig is back in his second James Bond outing as the British agent seeks some closure about the loss of his love in the previous film, and gets enmeshed in a villainous plot -- courtesy of smooth bad guy Domenic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) -- involving our most precious resource: water. Camille (Olga Kurvlenko) is the new Bond girl. It's a tough, nasty, action-packed film about trusting (or not trusting) others and oneself. A great entry in the series. (ES) Rated PG-13
