Are You Smart Enough to Work at Google?

For all the simplicity of Google’s design, the hiring process at this dream-to-work-for company is infamously tricky. Instead of lame interview questions like “Tell me why you would be an asset to Google,” they go a little deeper with questions like “If you were shrunk to the size of a nickel and placed in a blender, and the blades would start spinning in five seconds … what would you do?” ARE YOU SMART ENOUGH TO WORK AT GOOGLE? explores the ridiculous questions and the successful answers of Google interviewees.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

World of Warcraft has a lot going for it: orcs, loot, a disturbing understanding of how the reward centers of the human brain can be manipulated to create addiction. But one crucial thing it lacks thus far: lightsabers. But now the studio that gave us the Knights of the Old Republic computer game (widely considered to be what the Star Wars prequels should have been) has come out with a massive multiplayer game in the same vein: STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC. Yes, that means a monthly subscription and Bring-Me-The-Hides-of-24- Krayt-Dragons quests.

Spokane County Library - Kindle Checkouts

With the death of bookstores, it may seem that the quaint days of the library are obsolete. But not in Spokane. Both Spokane County and the Spokane Public Library offer KINDLE CHECKOUTS of eBooks for free with a library card. Only Spokane County, however, has a deal with their e-book distributor to check out books in Amazon’s Kindle format. Just check out the instructions on the Spokane County website, and then never leave the house for literature again.
