Last year brought many a hip downtown eatery to Spokane, Scout being one of the most notable. In only six months, it has become a mainstay for everything from brunch to late night, despite countless cooks and bartenders passing through the doors of the former Far West Billiards.

Popular items such as the chicken and waffles and the Gringo burrito (both $9) can be enjoyed morning, noon and night, and drinks are tasty and vary depending on the specialty of the bartender on shift. Their classic

Moscow Mule ($7) is a refreshing concoction of ginger and citrus that’s perfect for a summer afternoon.

The restaurant recently tweaked its menu, including its popular happy hour, which now runs from 1-6 pm Monday through Friday and offers $1 off beer, wine and cocktails and $2 off appetizers and salads. They also have new late-night specials and an ongoing “kick-the-keg” beer special on Wednesday nights.
