Luna is a neighborhood restaurant, says chef Steve Jensen, and one way the South Hill gourmet restaurant is keeping that friendly feel is by celebrating its 20th birthday with customers. This month, Luna has been open for two decades and is offering a prix fixe dinner special through Nov. 27 — salad, entrée and dessert for $20.

Luna’s menu has also undergone seasonal changes, with three quarters of its offerings switched up for fall. One new appetizer Jensen recommends is the mini grilled cheese on Bouzies baguette bread with Beecher’s Smoked Flagship white cheddar, apple and Dijon. For entrees he recommends the paella — a traditional Spanish dish with saffron rice, seafood and chorizo — and the vegetarian crimson quinoa dish with local wild mushrooms, spinach, apple and red onion.

Along with the elegant dining area, Luna has a lounge where customers are served from a vast list of wines, along with beer, ale and spirits. Happy hour is daily from 4-6 pm with $4 wine specials and signature cocktails.
