BalletBoyz: Life

BalletBoyz, an all-male dance ensemble founded by former dancers of the UK’s renowned Royal Ballet, presents an elegant, funny and sometimes strange take on life and death in a show called, well, “Life.” Currently on its American tour, the show unfolds in two parts: First, choreographer and filmmaker Pontus Lidberg offers his “ode to childhood” with the “Rabbit,” a clever look at social pressures with a dose of Lewis Carroll-brand nonsense. To close, choreographer Javier de Frutos breaks the fourth wall for “Fiction,” a dance exploring the aftermath of his “death,” complete with a campy, narrated obituary.
