Washington state Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown sent out a blog post today detailing the difficulties balancing the state budget.
Overall, pretty straightforward stuff — the recession, the two-thirds majority requirement for tax votes, constitutionally mandated programs and the like all contribute to a dire fiscal situation for lawmakers in Olympia.
But the best part of Brown's post was this killer calculator. With it, anyone can try to balance the budget. And after one go-around with it, let me tell you, it's super easy. (Hint: Eliminate everything.)
