There's no God, no free will, and science is wrong

Science_1.jpgIf there's no God or free will, and science is all wrong, what's left?

I don't know, really, because I stopped reading and started cutting myself in existential dread. (Love is a solution to a strategic coordination problem? What?)

Nonetheless, here are two interesting reads. Richard Marshall's "Nice Nihilism" reviews The Atheist's Guide to Reality, which Marshall says presents a refreshing — i.e. not a lazy rehash — approach to seeing the world as a Godless meat machine. The book also raises some interesting ideas on other quaint notions such as love and free will.

"Trial and Errors: Why Science is Failing Us" which comes from Wired, explores how scientific reasoning does not necessarily help us since it leads us to see cause and effect where there may be none. The more we learn, apparently, the less we know.

Commence cutting . . . now!
