For those who missed it, Chief Kirkpatrick gave an impassioned and eloquent speech last week at the crime victims vigil, which was held in the County Commissioners hearing room.

No matter where you stand on issues like Otto Zehm and Police abuse, you have to admit that our chief does indeed care about our community. I find her and Ozzie Knezovich to be articulate leaders. How many chiefs have a PhD ? (rare). The fact that Kirkpatrick inherited the Otto Zehm case often escapes the media, but it has not escaped my attention to detail. While Jim Nicks is definitely a man prone to mistakes and ethical lapse, Chief Kirkpatrick is impressive. I happen to think she will make the final threesome.

Some leaders (Steve Tucker) hide out and never make appearances (except when they drink beer and play Golf).....Chief Kirkpatrick attends every meeting possible. She has integrity and guts.

I wish her nothing but the best.
