In last week's paper, we featured a piece about how LCD Soundsystem, perhaps one of the most critically acclaimed and innovative live bands of the past 10 years, called it quits at the height of its popularity.
But thankfully for hardcore (or even casual) fans of the band, their last show was filmed for a documentary entitled Shut Up and Play the Hits.
The film captures their April 2011 farewell gig at Madison Square Garden. It's a rock doc with plenty of concert footage, but also includes interviews with Murphy and the band.
Screening across the country tonight only, we're lucky enough to have it showing at both 7 and 9 pm at the Magic Lantern. If you've ever heard of the band, you'll want to be there. Go ahead, dance in the aisles. We won't judge.
