TONIGHT!
Drink coffee, take a nap, call in sick tomorrow: do whatever you have to do to be at the Scott Kelly show tonight. The Neurosis/Shrinebuilder singer and guitarist brings his dark acoustic/folk project, Scott Kelly and the Road Home, to Mootsy's tonight. We talked with Kelly on the phone this week about the intimidation of standing at a microphone alone and ran this story. Locals Ian L. Miles and John K. open. ($5, 21 and over)
FRIDAY!
We wrote this story about Joe Pug — a singer who makes perfect American soundtrack music — a couple years back, calling him a "future legend." Turns out we were onto something: Pug returns to Pullman's awesome all-ages venue, the Belltower, Friday night with a legend, guitarist Joe Ely. Ely's influence is massive — on his new album, he sings alongside that other guy who makes perfect American music: Bruce Springsteen. Show's at 8 pm, and a ticket tomorrow will set you back $25. Worth it. (21 and over)
Also Friday:
Boots Bakery and Lounge, Brothers of Midnite, Clusterf--k (All ages)
Carr's Corner, The Finns, Wyatt Blue and the Architects (21)
The Center, Headbang for the Highway feat. Destined to Prevail, Ashlyus, Measures, Amontillado's Cask, Among Thieves, FAUS (All ages)

SATURDAY!
“Shut your mouth, shut it up. Forget your stupid questions.” Those are the kinds of no-nonsense lyrics you can expect to hear from up-and-coming punk rock locals 66beat at the band’s tape release show this weekend. And when singer Aaron Bocook sings them, they come out in this great Iggy Pop sneer, backed by rolling drums from Paul Forster. It’s totally contagious, irresistible dance punk — the kind of stuff you can picture teenage girls sneaking out of the house to go dance to. Be at Boots Bakery on Saturday for this free show. (All ages)
Also Saturday:
The Center, Headbang for the Highway feat. Verbea, Deviance, What Wings Once Held, Raised by Wolves, Annei Sails Sorrow, A Pyrrhic Victory (All ages)
SUNDAY!
As Owl City, Adam Young is known for his infectious melodies and poppy dance songs. But really, we found out he's a pretty shy guy who, simply, likes to make happy music. Read our interview with Young here, and check out the show — which will undoubtedly be packed — on Sunday night at the Knitting Factory. (All ages)
Also Sunday:
Northern Quest, Smokey Robinson (Gotta be 18)
AWESOMENESS
Also, we saw Spokane's most rocking lady emcee, Jaeda, dropped a new video today with none other than hip-hop legend Abstract Rude. Check it out below, and hear more of her music on her Facebook page.
