Clash of the Titans

There’s nothing wrong with remaking a bad old movie, if the new one is better than the original. The three-decade-old Clash of the Titans was a clunker, but this “new improved” version is just dull and dizzying. The story of Perseus (Sam Worthington), the half-human bastard son of the god Zeus (Liam Neeson), going up against a monstrous sea beast called the Kraken, is the newest big-screen exercise in 3D. But the effect is badly misused, and the film’s glacial pace will lull you, even when the giant scorpions are attacking. (ES)
