Late summer means it's time for the Spokane County Interstate Fair. Featured every year are a variety of competitions including arts and crafts, farm animals and food from the garden. Tractors are on display as well as a train museum. Vendors selling all sorts of wares from cooking implements to hot tubs dot display buildings and open areas. Also featured is the food, including barbecue, ice cream and of course elephant ears. Carnies try to get people to shoot water through a hole in a wall or pop balloons with a dart to win stuffed animals. Riders scream on roller coasters and rides that fling them about.
