The award-winning writer's narrative "Zek: An American Prison Story" weaves actual events that happened at Walla Walla prison into a fictional account of a day in the life inside a Washington State Prison. Layne Pavey and Jeff Coats, both formerly incarcerated, read from Zek, and Longworth joins by phone to answer questions. Also on hand is the Inlander's Mitch Ryals, who wrote about the first amendment issues surrounding the publication of Art's book.
