Time After Time -- We've heard the same song and dance a million times from local bands: "Yeah, dude. We're totally gonna record soon once we save up the money. And if we play some shows. And if we find a drummer..." Excuses, excuses.
Thankfully, the local yokels of Death Kills Time are actually putting their money where their mouths are. The hard-rocking Blood Brothers-esque band started working with Joe Varella at Black Lab Studios on a six-song EP. And it looks like DKT went to the right place -- in the past, Varella has recorded the Side Project, Locke and Dax Johnson, among many others. Look for DKT's EP soon, and check out their site at embeedesigns.com/dkt.
Free Pre-Show -- Hey kids, listen up. Skindred -- the band opening up for Papa Roach at the Big Easy this Friday night -- will be at the Long Ear record store (OK, OK -- CD store) in Coeur d'Alene Friday afternoon at 4 pm for a little in-store action, if you know what we mean. The Long Ear's commander-in-chief, Deon Borchard, says that in addition to treating patrons to a free live performance, the band will be hanging out afterwards signing autographs. The Long Ear will also be giving away some goodies including but not limited to a few tickets to the show. It's all part of doing business when you are one of the best full-service record stores -- um, CD stores -- in the region. And did we mention that this thing is free? Thought so.
Holla! -- Think your band is the sh**? Well, prove it. Now's the time to cast your votes for the best band in town (along with the best everything else, too). Thumb through this issue, fill our your ballot for the Best of the Inland Northwest and send 'er in!
