Garnet Cafe

The Garnet, located behind Syringa’s off of 4th, is a favorite local’s breakfast nook with a homey feel and delightful atmosphere. Servers with full-length arm tattoos bring you dishes piled high with interesting omelets named after local icons. Sunlight warms the bright yellow walls as you warm up your cup of brew. The only problem — finding a table during one of their almost-perpetual rushes. The Garnet is a favorite, but certainly not a secret. Make reservations early if you want to eat there this century, or try fighting your way to one of their eclectic dining tables. (February 2013)
