Off-Campus: What are college students' two favorite things: food and coffee. Whitworth students can be found anywhere that offers these favorites, including Didier's Yogurt and More, Red Robin, Coldstone Creamery, Dalcado's Baja Grill, Encore Espresso and Bakery, Pleasant Blends and Starbucks Coffee Co.

On-Campus: The Hixson Union Building (HUB) with its cafe, dining hall and lounge is a popular hangout for students while on-campus. Students can also be found on the green lawns of the campus loop relaxing in the sun or playing Frisbee.

Events

The fall musical, The Sound of Music, begins on Oct. 10 at Cowles Memorial Auditorium. Homecoming weekend is Oct. 19-20. The Pirates football team takes on Pacific Lutheran in the Pine Bowl on Oct. 19 at 1 pm.

New in 2002

Whitworth's intercollegiate athletics program seeks to continue its recent string of six conference championships over the past 18 months with a strong returning line-up of fall teams. The School of Global Commerce and Management recently received a $137,628 grant from the Herbert Jones Foundation to develop a center for entrepreneurship and small-business studies.
